IIIT's heart is in its right place, as demonstrated by the various social initiatives. This year, part of Felicity's sponsorship money goes to the weavers in Andhra Pradesh. As part of this endeavour, volunteers at IIIT-Hyderabad have taken up the cause of the Felicity Kurta. This initiative aims to sell khadi kurtas made with cloth procured from the AP State Handloom Weavers Co-op Society (APCO), and stitched by a local tailoring shop at Lingampally. On 15th Feb, students of IIIT also went on a rally at Hi-Tech City, for the cause of world peace and harmony.
