Euphoria 2008 - Annual Cultural Fest Of Vasavi: Events in Hyderabad

REVIEW FOR EUPHORIA 2008 - ANNUAL...

The students of Vasavi College of Engineering are organizing their annual youth festival Euphoria 2008, from 14th March to 16th March, at the college campus in Ibrahimbagh, Gandipet Road. The biggest college cultural festival of the twin cities, this year it's named Green Euphoria, which means no plastic, no littering, and all the little things that can make a big difference.

There are expectedly a lot of events during the days and big celebrity music nites during the evenings:

Aao Twist Kare
A group dancing competition with 4 members per team. Groove to the beat, jive to the rhythm and sway to the music.

Abhinay
Abhinay means art. From literature to singing; from drama to disco, art, in its multitudinous forms, is fascinating, and that is what Abhinay tries to capture. It encourages students to rise above their inhibitions and express themselves.

Blitzkrieg
The gaming station at Vasavi, with its state-of-the-art facilities, is a haven for hardcore gamers. If gaming is your forte and the virtual world appeals to you, then Blitzkrieg is the stage to showcase them.

Clean-up Drive
Armed with wheelbarrows and brooms, a group of 100 students are all set to clean a slum near the college, and also to educate the dwellers about their surroundings. This is in association with the GHMC.

Clean-up Park
The environmentally aware engineers have decided to head to a city park and nurture it.

Eco-Friendly Paper Presentation
Papers can be presented on the topics of Global Warming, Pollution, or any other topic related to the environment.

Elocution
If you are loquacious, can talk coherently and sonorously, and have an innate ability to express yourself well, and all you need is a good piece of prose or poetry, this is the platform to exhibit it.

Essay Writing
Innovation, legible handwriting, sound knowledge of the English language, arguing skills. That's all is need for this one, so go ahead and 'write' away!

Informals
Simple games and endless goodies, that is informals in short. There are various stalls strewn all across the campus, and you can walk into any one and come out with a nice little prize. No stress, no nervousness; just experience the creative games.

JAM
If you captivate those around with your incessant prattle and make the listeners listen through, then this is the best platform. All these in Just A Minute.

Jukebox
Shake a leg, tap those feet; bang that head to your favorite music. With 1,500 watts of pulsating music, the atmosphere is going to be electric.

Junkyard Wars
Get your Robos to clean up trash strewn all over the place. The cleaner the place is, the closer you are to winning this event.

Mr. & Ms. Euphoria
This event will showcase vigor, enthusiasm, passion, talent, skill and spontaneity. Bring out those jhatkas and matkas, walk the ramp in gorgeous outfits and sizzle the night.

Musical Band
This event is a golden opportunity for all the student artistes to showcase their talents on a grand scale. Singers will be accompanied by a Vasavi band consisting of flute, guitar, casio, sitar, tanpura and violin players. Be it classical, rock, filmi or non-filmi songs, just rock the students during this 3-night event.

No Strings Attached
Play a musical instrument. Be it the guitar or the veena.

Picture Perfect
Capture a moment, a portrait of a myriad emotions that either delights or tugs at your heart strings. See the world through the eyes of your camera lens and unearth the hidden photographer in you.

Pot Pourri
Witty questions, anagrams, word puzzles, pictionary with audio/visual clues, the games are simply good literary fun.

Quiz
A general quiz event. Questions range from current affairs to sports.

Say No More
How well can you gesture a phrase to your partner with lips zipped and staying dumb? Dumb Charades is a fun game which many fancy.

Talent Competition
It's 30 seconds to fame. Strike a note, shake a leg and get as creative as you can, 'coz the most offbeat performances grab the most points.

Cultural Nites
14th March - Indipop nite by Euphoria
15th March - Fusion music nite by Bandish Projekt
16th March - Fusion performance by Raghu Dixit Project
