Take a break from heavily spiced pop movies that invade the splashiest theaters every week. Instead, walk the woods with the Hyderabad Film Clubs screenings of “far-fetched” movies. That's right, they come from far-off countries and they discuss far-off themes. And yet, compared to mainstream movies, their stories are as close home as it gets.
Dream Life Of Angels showing at Sarathi Studio on the 15th of November, is a sensitively made movie about two young women who become best of friends as they grapple with the tribulations they face in response to their starkly contrasting personalities. Isa is 20 years old, happy go lucky, optimistic and loving, while Maria is a withdrawn social rebel.
The technically slick movie captures their friendship waxing and waning as lovers, jobs and newer obsessions tumble into their lives.
For playing the characters of these girls with intelligence, both Elodie Bouchez, and Natacha Regnier, received the Cannes awards, Ceaser awards, as well as European film awards. The movie, and director Erick Zonca have themselves swept all the above.
As usual, only members are allowed at the screenings at Sarathi Studio. So you know what to do next!
