Dr. Ravikant Singh is the founder and president of Doctors for You (an organization dedicated to disaster and crisis management and primary health care). He is also the visiting faculty at Jamsetji Tata Centre for Disaster Management, TISS, Mumbai. At present, he is the lead trainer in the state of Assam. He has trained over 5,000 medical and paramedical staff and paramilitary workers from 6 states of India.
In 2011, his organization, Doctors For You (DFY), was selected for the Best Medical Team in Crisis Zone Award, by the British Medical Journal.
Dr. Ravikant is the first Indian SAARC Youth awardee for "Outstanding Work Done In The Aftermath Of Natural Disaster" during the floods of 2008 in Bihar.
In 2013, he was selected as one of the five "Mumbai Heroes" by the Times Of India group, for his contribution in the field of disaster health and the provision of quality primary health care to underprivileged communities in Mumbai.
He was recently felicitated on national television, by the Star TV Group, as part of their Independence Day Celebrations, for his humanitarian work during the recent floods in Uttarakhand.
Currently, DFY is working under the mentorship of IIM Calcutta, and is involved in training and capacity building. DFY also started skill building and quality improvement training of district-level health staff, for emergency obstetric care.
