Saichand Tripuraneni pays tribute to actress Anjali Devi in his 25-year old documentary, followed by a discussion with her contemporary actress Jamuna Ramana Rao.
Anjali Devi is well known for her role in the mythological hit "Lava Kusha", and her roles in movies like "Suvarna Sundari" and "Anarkali". In Hindi cinema, she is better known for her roles in "Devta" opposite Gemini Ganeshan, "Sati Savitri" opposite Mahipal, and "Bhakta Prahlad". Songs picturised on her, including "Tum gagan ke chandrama ho", "Jeevan dor tumhi sang bandhi" and "Kabhi to miloge, jeevan sathi" are still quite popular.
She began in 1936 when she appeared in a minor role in "Raja Harishchandra", and then played the lead role in L V Prasad's "Kashtajeevi".
