At a time when global capitalism is facing deep systemic crises - fueling inequality, social unrest, and the rise of authoritarian forces - interest in Marxism is once again gaining momentum worldwide. In India, this crisis manifests sharply: while capitalism falters and fascist tendencies grow stronger, the communist movement itself grapples with internal challenges, particularly ideological weakness. This discussion aims to address that gap by returning to the foundations of Marxism as a science of revolution. Organised by In Defense of Reason, the session seeks to build a rigorous, scientific understanding of Marxist theory and its relevance today. Through structured dialogue and collective learning, the initiative hopes to reinvigorate political thought and practice. The discussion is open to all who dream of a classless, casteless India - free from exploitation, oppression, and structural injustice - and who believe that ideas, when sharpened and understood deeply, can become powerful tools for social transformation.
