Renowned dastango Kafeel Jafri presents a solo Classic Dastangoi performance of Tilism-e-Hoshruba, one of the most celebrated fantasy epics of Urdu storytelling. Set in a magical tilism (enchanted world), the tale follows clever tricksters - especially Amar Aiyaar - as they battle powerful Saahirs and Jadugars, whose magic-built cities, jungles, and fortresses are designed to trap them. This constant clash between wit and sorcery gives the performance its dramatic intensity and rich cast of characters. Delivered in mellifluous Urdu, interwoven with poetry, the dastan revives stories that are over 150–250 years old. Once thought extinct by the 1920s, Dastangoi was revived in the mid-2000s, and continues to enchant audiences with its oral magic and timeless imagination.
