Peshawar reminds you of two things - the geographical association is unpleasant, but the culinary one is inescapably in your face. Literally - your nose and mouth react involuntarily. Hopefully you can bring some of that home tonite.
On the occasion of Times Hyderabad Festival, free cooking classes are being organised by renowned chefs of the city, who will whip up Chinese, South-Indian, North-West Frontier, Italian and Hyderabadi cuisine, from 2nd to 6th April, at various premium eateries like Ahala, Firdaus and Golden Dragon of Taj Krishna, Kebab-E-Bahar of Taj Banjara, Dakshin of ITC Kakatiya, Mainland China and Touch.
Today, the 3rd day, Chef Chaman Lal will present live cooking classes of North-West Frontier (Peshawri) cuisine, at Kebab-E-Bahar, the North-West speciality restaurant of Hotel Taj Banjara. Peshawri cuisine is almost similar to North-Indian dishes. North-Indian food does a balancing act between vegetables and meat, while meat dominates the cuisine of Peshawar.
Lal will start the demo session with Subz Dum Shorba, followed by Khasta Kheeme Di Tikki, Taxali Tar Korma and Sindhi Biryani. The classes are free for everyone, but advance registration is compulsory.
