Connaissance - 2009 is a 2-day national technical symposium organized by the Department Of Mechanical Engineering at JNTU.
The Connaissance technical symposium series is an annual event that was started in 2005. The central idea of the 2-day meet is to bring out the innate talent, creativity, innovation, public-speaking skills, and organizing capabilities of students so that they gain the domain and field experience that is required to succeed in their careers, be it in academia, industry, R & D, the government sector, or as entrepreneurs.
In the past 4 years, students from 450 institutions from within Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states have participated in this symposium. Connaissance 2009 is the 5th edition in the series, and the various events organised under the fest are as follows:
Robotics - Students are required to make robots that meet certain specifications, and that can perform the task that is to be accomplished. Robo Soccer, Robo War and Crack D Track comprise this event.
Technical Quiz - Students are tested on various topics that make up the broad domain of Mechanical Engineering.
Paper Presentations - Students are required to collect theme-based material, synthesize the information and make coherent presentations.
Momento Critico - Teams will have to construct a model based on certain restrictions, from given junk material.
Tech Treasure Hunt - Students must search for the clues by answering technical questions, in order to get to the treasure.
Working Model Presentation - Students are required to present an innovative working model in their field of interest.
Nocturn Machines - From the provided material, participants need to prepare a working model of a given problem statement.
