The All India Crafts Mela at Shilparamam, which started on 13th December, is coming to an end this Sunday. Aruna and Padma will be performing a vocal duet this Friday. The duo will be accompanied by Ramaraju Dinakar on the violin and A Srinivasa Rao on the mridangam.
Aruna and Padma are sisters who have been singing for the past 2 decades. They learnt music from the Hyderabad Sisters, Haripriya and Lalitha, and thereafter, from M N Subrahmanyam. They also trained under the flute maestro, N S Srinivasan.
The sisters are A-Grade artistes of AIR, having sung on National Coordination programs of AIR and Doordarshan. They each have an MA in Music, with distinction. They have received several prizes, including the CCRT scholarship. Together, they have performed in several cities all over the country.
Shilparamam entry charges of Rs. 20 per adult and Rs. 10 per adult are applicable. Please contact the venue at 2310-0455 for further details.
