Carnatic Vocal Concert By K Shyam Kumar: Events in Hyderabad

Kalasagaram is organising a Carnatic vocal concert on the 25th July at Keyes High School. The program starts at 6:30pm.

The vocal recital will be by K Shyam Kumar, and R Dinakar on the violin, D S R Murthy on the mridangam and K Radha Padmaja on the morsing will accompany the singer.

Shyam Kumar had his initial training in music under K Muralidharacharya, and later under Haripriya (of the Hyderabad Sisters). He underwent an advanced training in vocal music under flute Vidwan Late N S Srinivasan. He was given a HRD Scholarship by the Government Of India for 2 years form 1999. He completed his M A in the mridangam form the Gandharva Maha Vidyalaya, and his and M A in vocal music from the Telugu University.

Shyam Kumar is a B-graded Artist in vocal music and a 'B-High' graded artist in the mridangam and the kanjira, of AIR and DD. He was given the 'Local Best Upapakkavadhyam Artist' award by Kalasagaram. He is currently a music lecturer in the Government Girls' High School at Nampally.
