Even if you've never seen her, you've most probably heard her. Here's presenting someone who started her journey early, very early.
On the occasion of the All India Crafts Mela, Shilparamam is presenting a Carnatic vocal recital by Swetha Prasad on 22nd December. With Renuka Prasad on the mridangam, Saikumar on the violin, Srikanth on the tabla and Sridharacharya on the ghatam, Swetha will be reciting some Annamacharya and Thyagaraja kritis.
Swetha started her journey into the world of music at the age of 4, receiving her first lessons in music from Ramalaxmi Rangachari, and thereafter from the renowned guru and musician Neti Srirama Sarma for the last 13 years. Swetha also proved her skills in singing under the guidance of Dr. Shobaraju, Founder-President of Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini.
A gold medalist in Annamacharya kritis at national-level competitions conducted by the Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini, Swetha has won accolades on a number of occasions at music competitions conducted by various organisations and sabhas.
She has travelled extensively all over India, and has performed at USA and Bangladesh. She has also sung as a playback singer for TV serials and movies, and has several music and dance cassettes to her credit.
Apart from traditional kutcheris, Swetha also lends her voice to the world of dance, providing vocal support to renowned dancers like Dr. Shobha Naidu, Swapna Sundari, Vanisree Jai Rama Rao, Swati Somnath and Alekhya Punjla, and has been to several parts of India, and abroad including Turkey, China, Thailand, Japan and Belgrade.
