Torn Curtains is presenting an English play 'Behind The Bra' on 3rd October, at La Makaan. This latest production has been written by Nirati Agarwal, and produced and directed by Mala Pasha.
The play is based on the writer's interviews and research of the issues faced by breast cancer survivors. The monologues and dialogues in this play express the emotions of women coming to terms with the realities of this dreaded condition. They feel that these issues are dominant not only in our society but globally as well.
Torn Curtains was established in 1971, by a group of people dedicated to making theatre an enjoyable and meaningful experience. Late Raman Rao, a theatre and advertising personality, Tony Mirchandani and Mala Pasha are among the founders of the group.
Torn Curtains is one of the oldest surviving English theatre groups in south India, and has performed classics, comedies, translations and originals, in places including Hyderabad, Vizag, Goa, Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata and even Dubai. In its current repertoire, the group has the successful "Meri Kahani", a play about domestic violence and marital abuse; "Karaoke Killer", a supper theatre offering; and "Behind The Bra", a play about Breast Cancer, all produced and directed by Mala Pasha.
