As part of Rasaranjani's monthly staging of Telugu theatre, "Ayushman Bhava" will staged by Natyanjali, on the 20th and 21st July, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha. The play has been written by Bhavani Prasad and directed by Ramana Prabhu.
Ayushman Bhava is about education, unemployment and suicides. Youngsters, in order to be successful in life and earn lots of money, spend all of their parents' earning for their higher studies. When they don't get the jobs they want, they lose patience and are driven to suicide, thus relieving themselves of the burden but throwing their parents into life-long grief. The play aims to address the current problem of depression that youth of today face.
Rasaranjini was established in March 1993, with a staging of the famous play "Kanya Sulkam". During these 14 years since its inception, it has staged about 1,900 plays. It stages a play every month at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, to promote this neglected form.
The association not only stages its own productions, but also gets groups from outside, and pays for their staging. It also trains in acting and mime. K V Ramana (IAS) is its president, and most of its members are renowned theatre personalities.
