Saimakhya Bharathi, in association with Chaitanya Art Theatres, is organising a theatre festival from 7th to 9th February, at the Ravindra Bharathi auditorium. 5 plays will be staged during the 3-day festival. Ayushman Bhava, a play by Natyanjali from Hyderabad, will be staged on the 2nd day, on 8th February.
Ayushman Bhava is written by Bhavani Prasad and directed by Ramana Prabhu, and is about education, unemployment and suicides. Youngsters, in order to be successful in life and earn lots of money, spend all of their parents' earning for their higher studies. When they don't get the jobs they want, they lose patience and are driven to suicide, thus relieving themselves of the burden but throwing their parents into lifelong grief. The play aims to address the current problem of depression that youth of today face.
Samaikhya Bharathi and Chaitanya Art Theatres are two respected cultural organisations of the twin cities. Both are committed towards reviving theatre, and organise cultural events regularly.
