Art is about expression and interpretation, but only till it is the same one. When we came up with a, let's say, less popular interpretation, everyone scoffed at us till we turned a deep shade of crimson. Yeah well, something had triggered off our allergy to intelligence.
The fact remains that you can either pretend to understand art or actually understand it. The State Gallery Of Art is determined to make you pick the latter. With three courses designed to suit different age groups, we think they might succeed in making us all art-savy afterall.
The lessons will be conducted at the Citramayee Club at the gallery for the following courses,
1) Rupavali: For ages 8-11, Rs. 400 per month
2) Roopkatha: For ages 5-8, Rs. 300 per month
3) Roopadarshi: For ages 11-14, Rs. 400 per month
4) Chitrakatha: Art appreciation course for adults, Rs. 3,000 for 3 months
5) Chitralekha: Practical lessons for adults, Rs. 3,000 for 3 months
All classes will be held between 1100 and 1200 hrs every Sunday.
