This version of the classic novel set in 1872 focuses on an eccentric London inventor, Phileas Fogg (Steve Coogan), who has come up with the secrets to flight, electricity, and even rollerblades, but the world has dismissed him as a crackpot. Desperate to be taken seriously, Fogg makes an outlandish bet with Lord Kelvin (Broadbent), the head of the Royal Academy of Science, to circumnavigate the globe in no more than 80 days! With his two sidekicks - Passepartout (Jackie Chan) and femme fatale Monique (De France) - Fogg is headed on a frantic, heart-pounding round-the-world race that takes our heroes to the world's most exotic places by land, sea, and air.
Along the way, Passepartout uses his amazing martial arts abilities to defend Fogg from the many dangers they face. One major threat to their adventure is a detective that's following them. Why? Just as Fogg and Passepartout left London, a major bank was robbed, and Fogg is suspected of using the "around the world" trip as an excuse to escape. Their path from London and back includes stopovers in Paris, Turkey, India, China and the USA. Along the way, our heroes face many adventures and obstacles from an all-star cast including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Kathy Bates, Owen & Luke Wilson, and Rob Schneider.
