The Hyderabad Western Music Foundation, in association with the Alliance Francaise and Goethe Zentrum, is presenting an evening with jazz singer/pianist Ed Pastorini on 22nd January at the La Makaan.
Ed Pastorini studied piano with Lenny Tristano, but loved the Beatles and Beefheart even more than jazz. His songs reflect all these influences as well as his literary heroes Joyce, Beckett and Pinter. Ed's raspy, accurate singing, trigonometrical melodies, and playing of the piano and guitar, have been much appreciated. Artists with whom Ed has worked include Elysian Fields and Beth Orton.
