Shrida productions is organizing a musican play titled Aladdin & The Lamp Of Magic from 13th to 18th Feb, at Ravindra Bharathi. The timings of the play on each day are 4pm & 7pm.
This is Shrida Productions' first production, and has been conceptualised on the lines of acclaimed Broadway musicals. The story is told like in a movie - with scenes, songs (sung by the actors themselves along with a live orchestra), and dances.
Set in a Middle Eastern city, the story begins with a petty thief named Aladdin falling in love with the princess. He gets caught by the guards, and agrees to help an evil magician in return for saving him from the guards.
The magician requests Aladdin to get the Lamp of Magic from the Cave of Fortune. Unaware that his life is at stake, Aladdin steps into the Cave of Fortune and finds the lamp. Unfortunately, the cave collapses with Aladdin stuck inside the cave. How Aladdin unleashes the powerful genie from the lamp and how it helps him to marry the princess and defeat the evil magician forms the rest of the plot.
The Cave Of Fortune is an iron structure with fibre, and is interactive, with the mouth opening to swallowing whoever enters inside. Inside are 3 caves - the first is filled with trees with golden fruits, the 2nd has a silver lake, and 3rd one has the magic lamp.
There's a song on the flying magic carpet, in which a carpet is lifted and moved by rope. Life-sized animals are also a highlight of the play.
The play is suitable for all ages. Please contact 99120-28339 / 88869-67886 / 88869-67887 for further details.
