Curator's Note: A Dialogue: Finite/Infinite is a montage of abstract art by two artists - Akhilesh from Bhopal and Gita from Chennai.
This show is about the immense possibilities available to artists working under the genre of pure arts. Like music - abstract art has in it the quality to touch the inner chords of human emotions. The audience merely needs to look within and around their matrix to recollect their own emotions regarding colour and form.
Although, both Akhilesh and Gita reject nature as perceived by the human eye, the resonance of our memory emerges in their works. If Akhilesh engages in a dialogue with colour (especially, his titles are indicators of structured conversations), Gita, in her space, creates nuances of females forms, architecture and musical instruments. A Dialogue: Finite/Infinite welcomes its audience to post questions regarding abstract art, related reactions, questions, dilemmas, apprehensions for the artists who would be addressing us all during their visit on November 7, 2014, at Daira Centre for Arts and Culture.
