Young Vinaya is interested in nature and ecological systems. His father goes abroad to work and his mother, a teacher, is transferred to a remote tribal settlement leaving Vinaya alone with his grandma. His mother's zest for teaching instils tremendous enthusiasm in the tribal children. But in the absence of parental guidance, Vinaya goes astray and is depressed. Vinaya's mother brings her to the tribal settlement and his happiness knows no bounds amidst mother nature's beauty. A scary incident compels Vinaya to help in the establishment of a solar power system in the tribal settlement. However, an education officer is unhappy with the way the teacher empowers the tribal people, but they are all in favour of the lady who brought light into their lives. Vinaya's father returns to his native land and happily extends his support.
