Yamaha Roxx, a music venture of Yamaha Motor India that was launched last year, is organising Yamaha Roxx, a competition for amateur rock bands, on 7th December, at the Wesley Boys Degree College grounds.
This year, Yamaha Roxx kicked off in Kolkata on 1st December. The rock tour will be held in 7 prominent cities of the country, namely Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Bangalore and Delhi. The grand finale will be conducted in Delhi, sometime in January 2008. The all-India winner gets an opportunity to represent India at the Asian Beats rock competitions, to be held in Taiwan.
The competition is open to any amateur band of Indian nationality, and a band can have a maximum of five members. They are required to perform one original composition and one cover during the heats. The original compositions are required during the semifinals and finals.
All bands will have to use Yamaha instruments on stage for the finals except for those instruments that Yamaha does not produce. Bands may choose to purchase their own Yamaha instruments or use the ones provided on the event days.
