Shrishti Art Gallery is organising an exhibition of etchings and woodcuts by Meher Afroz of Karachi and Padma Reddy of Hyderabad, from 19th September to 2nd October. A collection of about 35 paintings is on display.
Born in 1948, in Lucknow, India, Meher Afroz graduated in Fine Art in 1971 from the Government College Of Arts And Crafts in Lucknow. She currently lectures in Fine Art at the Indus Valley School Of Art in Karachi, Pakistan. Meher has exhibited worldwide, including in India, Pakistan, Europe, Britain, Australia and the US.
Padma Reddy was born in 1963 at Hyderabad, and studied Diploma in Painting from College Of Fine Arts, JNTU, Post Diploma in Print Making from M S University, Baroda; and Post-Graduation in Ancient Indian History, Culture & Archeology from Osmania University, Hyderabad. She has held many solo shows in Hyderabad, participated in various group shows, and attended many art camps. She has won the Euro Art Award from the Camlin Foundation.
