REVIEW FOR WOMAN SPECIFICS - PAINTINGS BY D V S KRISHNA
An exhibition of paintings on 'Streetvam' by D V S Krishna will be organized by Hasta Gallery, for 11 days. Woman Specifics, as the exhibition has been titled, is based on women. There are about 30 paintings on display. These paintings are woman-specific, and are figurative works with rich colour schemes of selected hues along with interesting plays of lines.
Born in 1973 at Nellore, Krishna graduated in painting from the JNTU College of Fine Arts, Hyderabad, in 1996, and also completed the higher grade drawing examination conducted by the A P State Board of Technical Education, in 1989.
Krishna held his first solo show at the Alliance Francaise Art Gallery in Hyderabad in 1995. He has also participated in various group exhibitions at the Hyderabad Art Society, Minaz Art Gallery, ICCR Art Gallery, Gallery Space and HSBC Bank in Hyderabad, and the Lalit Kala Academy in New Delhi.
Krishna was also part of an all-India artist camp on traditional art conducted by Shilparamam in 1998, and worked as art director for several Telugu films and two Bengali films.
