Stand-up comedian Vir Das will be performing live in town on 23rd April, at the Shilpakala Vedika auditorium. A new series titled Walking With Broken Das, the show is produced by Ashvin Gidwani, and directed and written by Vir Das.
Walking With Broken Das is a series of monologues with an irreverent take on a range of issues, and includes a cast of impersonations. The cameos include a spiritual tryst with Mystro Ravi Darsaan and the very British Lord Nassar Davis, besides Sara Samadhan, a 60-year-old resident of Punjabi Bagh. The show, which the makers say is not for the easily offended, will end with a performance by Das's rock band, Alien Chutney, and their brand of comedy rock.
Vir Das is a stand-up comedian and an upcoming actor. He was born in Dehradun and has lived in Africa, Shimla and Delhi. He spent 4 years at Knox College, Illinois, and a year at Harvard University. He studied economics and acting.
Das started as a stand-up comedian in the US and performed at the Habitat Center in New Delhi when on a visit to India. After doing a show for the Times Of India, he received a chance to work with Zoom TV on the show Ek Rahen Bir. He is also seen on CNBC's News On The Loose.
