He is a disciple of violin maestro, the legendary Dwaram Venkatasamy Naidu, and is a retired staff artiste of the Akashvani. He has given about 1,000 concerts both solo and as an accompanying artist for singers and dancers, all over the world. He was awarded the 1st prize in the All India Music Challenge Competitions held during the 1950s at Vijayawada, in which many violin vidhwans had participated.
Sangeeta Ksheerasagaram has been organizing classical music shows in memory of Late Uppalapati Ankaiah. As a tribute to the legend, it promotes upcoming and established artists by inviting them to perform in these concerts.
