Kinnera Art Theatres is giving away its annual Ugadi Puraskarams on 24th April, at Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha. 9 deserving professionals who are experts in their field will receive the awards, as below:
Chekuri Rama Rao for literature
Manju Bhargavi for dance
Hyderabad Sisters for music
Captain Jaisimha for personality development
Guduri Savithri for theatre
Dr. K Rajaiah for art (painting)
Sudhir (retd. manager of SBH) for banking
Dr. Prasada Reddy for medicine

On this occasion, disciples of Maddali Usha Gayathri will perform a Kuchipudi dance recital. Baby Ujwala, Ramya Ravali, Anisha, Shruthi and Meghana will start the recital with Shambho Mahadeva, followed by a dance ballet Annamacharya Antarangam which comprises of five Annamacharya keertanas, Narayanathe Namo Namo, Alarulu Kuriyaga, Tandanana Ahi, Chakkina Talliki and Meragu Vantidi, and ends with a Dr. Mangalampalli's Tillana.
The chief guest for the evening is Ramadevi, ex-governor of Karnataka, and the inauguration will be done by Ganapeeth and Padmabhushan awardee Dr. C Narayana Reddy.
Kinnera Art Theatres was started in 1977, and has since organised various programs, including musical nites, classical dances and vocals, felicitations and releases of books. It has served as a platform for many upcoming artistes, and has at the same time provided recognition and appreciation for established ones. Dr R Prabhakar Rao, IPS, is the chairman of the association, while M Raghuram is its dedicated secretary.
