Abstract painting is true art. Understanding it is true mental imbalance. Normally,
people wouldn't want abstract paintings in their bedrooms. God only know what
it would be like to wake up in the middle of the night and have an abstract painting
staring at you. You'd laugh out hard to wake up the entire neighbourhood!
But sometimes (say, once every 1000 years) there is an exhibition of abstract
paintings that you would rue to miss. It's hard to say if this one is that or
not, since, it is abstract. One would have to visit and find out.
The theme for the exhibition is Trishna - The Quest. The quest for artistic excellence,
if you will.
Mrs. Avani Rao Gadra has conceived the idea. She's a well-known figure in abstract
painting circles. She's been involved with the art for a few years now and has
won many prestigious awards as well. Her paintings are usually priced at a broad
range of Rs. 5,000 to Rs. 10,000 apiece. The exhibition is on for a several days,
so walk in sometime to have a feel of what real art is like.
