The Times Of India is organising an 8-day Hyderabad festival from 7th to 15th June, at different venues across the city. The festival will feature Indian classical music concerts by Dr. M Bala Muralikrishna, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia and Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma, food festivals, a qawwali-fashion fusion by Munnawar Masoom and Tarun Tahiliani, a rock concert by Parikrama, and music carnivals by The Aryans and Shibani Kashyap.
Shibani Kashyap will be performing live on the last day of the festival, at Prasads Multiplex. Kashyap is a graduate in English Literature from Lady Shriram College, Delhi, after which she did her masters in mass communication from the Indian Institute of Mass Communication. Her singing career started in school when she did the All India Radio signature tune. She has spent the last decade captivating the audience with music that "focuses on truth, life and beauty".
She was first noticed during the world's longest dance party held at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium in New Delhi. Her first composition was "Sajna... Aa Bhi Jaa" in Waisa Bhi Hota Hai, which gave her a lot of publicity. After that her two albums Nazakat and Hakim Tara Chand hit the market, which added more glitter to her career. Known for her sultry voice, flawless guitar playing and dynamic stage presence, Kashyap is constantly on the move, bringing her mesmerizing music to live venues all over the world.
She was named "Singer of the Nation" by B4U music channel. Her debut release "Ho Gayi Hai Mohabbat" earned her a Channel V award. In 2003, she was nominated for a Hero Cycles Stardust Award for her song "Sajna... Aa Bhi Jaa".
