For a week-long food fest, Taj Krishna has flown in Chef Tilaka Ratna from Colombo, in association with Sri Lankan Airlines, to stir up delicacies from Ravana's land, at its 24-hour coffee shop, Encounters. The dominating flavors of this food fest are spices, closely followed by the coconut.
The spread features a different soup for each day of the week, and includes delectable dishes such as Beef Bistew - a beef stew in coconut flavored gravy -, Cabbage Mellum and Curry Chicken Soup.
If a sweet tooth is what you have, then you will be making a beeline for the desserts section which lays out goodies like Wattalappam, made of jaggery and coconut milk, Pol Toffee, jaggery cubes in dessicated coconut and Bibikkan, a jaggery brownie.
