REVIEW FOR THE LITTLE BIRD FREAK - IRANIAN MOVIE BY RAHBAR QANBARI
11-year-old Behrouz can make sounds like a bird. At that age, it's hard to have any more special skills. It's easy to impress girls with, however.
The Hyderabad Film Club is screening "A Little Bird Freak" on the 4th of November, as part of the Iranian Film Festival, at the Indira Priyadarshini Auditorium, Public Gardens. The movie was directed by Rahbar Ghanbari.
The story is about 11-year-old Behrouz, who can make sounds like a bird. A bird-hunter hires Behrouz in order to sell birds that he traps, at a higher price. He hides Behrouz under a blanket, so that he can make the bird sounds when the customers come. This way the bird-hunter would make the customers pay a higher price for all the ordinary birds by passing them off as special.
One day a small girl comes with her mother to buy a bird. She is also deceived by Behrouz's sounds and buys an ordinary bird. But she becomes very sad later when she realizes that the bird is ordinary. Then Behrouz himself goes to cheer her up with his voicies.
