The Chinese Girl is the inside story of a group of youngsters who are trying
to apply to their own lives the ideology in the name of which Mao-Tse-Tung has
denounced the now bourgeois leaders of the Soviet Union and the main Western Communist
At one of their weekly meetings, Veronique proposes to kill an eminent personality of the academic world. Her motion is approved by all except Henri who defends the theory of peaceful coexistence with the bourgeoisie. He is expelled ipso facto. Kirilov, a painter who pleads in vain to carry out the murder, commits suicide, and thus confounds both God and Marxism-Leninism. Veronique carries out the murder.
