He's not the man around whom your life revolves, but at 10 hours a day, he's
nearly halfway there. So if he's being good to you, it's important that he knows
that you know that. These ladies surely know that, and look what's up!
The National Institute of Professional Secretaries (NIPS) was founded in 1970 by Homai Mehta, Director, JJ College of Commerce, Mumbai. NIPS has regional chapters in cities like New Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad. It currently has a membership exceeding 1,600 lady management secretaries, executive secretaries, executive assistants and stenographers.
NIPS assists members in honing their skills, knowledge and expertise in the secretarial world, thereby helping the professional secretary meet the corporate challenges of the future. It also regularly conducts programs for its members, and, in 1997, introduced the celebration in India of Boss' Day on October 16th.
The first Boss' Day was celebrated in 1958 when Patricia Bays Haroski, a secretary in Illinois, decided her manager deserved a party. Since then, the day has gained popularity not only among offices but among card and gift companies as well. It is a day when secretaries the world over acknowledge the support of their bosses. This year, for the first time, the Hyderabad Chapter plans to celebrate this event to show its admiration for the people who always support them.
