This spidey doesn't have big-money backing it up - find out how this 8-legged freak takes up on the united groups of ants.
The participants of the Kids’ Acting Workshop Parichay, organized by the Sutradhar School Of Acting, would be presenting a one-act play The Ants. The play is in Hindi, and will be staged at the amphitheater at Saptaparni, Banjara Hills.
The play was originally written in Malayalam as Orukootam Urumbukal (A Group Of Ants) by Prof. G Sankara Pillai. It has been translated, adapted and improvised upon by the students of Parichay. There are a total number of 11 artists, all in the age group of 5 to 13 years. The songs are written, composed and choreographed by the participants themselves.
The Ants is a play about the maxim Strength In Unity. It is the story of two groups of ants - red and black – who are constantly squabbling with each other. The enemy, represented by a spider, takes advantage of the situation. The ants realize their folly, and unite against the spider with the help of a 'God'.
However this 'God' starts exploiting them, and takes the form of a 'Rakshas'. With their newfound unity, the ants kill the Rakshas, proving that if united, you can accomplish even the impossible.
The director Parichay is A S Devendranath, a Post-graduate in Theatre Arts from the Central University Of Hyderabad. Vinay Varma is the course coordinator, and the workshop is being conducted under the guidance of Prof Bhaskar Shewalkar.
