The Department of Mechatronics, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Technology, is organising Technovation 2008, on 28th and 29th February, at the college premises in Gandipet. The 2-day technical festival will have various events such as paper and idea presentation, technical quiz, games, workshops and guest lectures, as given below:
The topics for presentation of papers are as below:
Mechatronics System Design
Instrumentation And Control Systems
Recent Trends in Automobile Engineering
Advances in Material Technology
Neural Networks and Fuzzy Logic
Expert Systems & AI
Advances in Manufacturing Technology
Non-Conventional Energy Systems
...or any other related topic.
The basic concept of this event is to identify people with ideas and the zeal to implement them. It aims to enhance the practical skills that an engineer posesses before presenting himself to the industry.
The contestants' aptitude in core subjects of all branches like mechanical, electrical, electronics and computers will be assessed. There will be 2 written rounds, and a final round of oral quizzing.
Raw materials will be provided along with a problem statement. The contestants are required to work with them and achieve the required result.
Components will be provided and participants are required to assemble these to get a working mechanical model.
This event is a combination of activities like dumb-charades and pictionary.
This is the first round in the event. One participant in each team will be given a technical term to enact. The other participants have to guess the word in a given period of time.
This is the second round in the event. Here one of the participants in each team will be given a word that they must put across to the teammate effectively through a drawing.
A mélange of computer games such as Counter-Strike 1.6, FIFA '08, and NFS - Most Wanted.
Ever faced a job interview? Face one now. Impress your employer and pocket the lucrative job.
The participants are required to design an autonomous robot for which the components and schematic will be provided.
Academicians and industrial experts will share their expertise in their fields. Dr. K S Raghavan, Discipline Chief, Structures, InfoTech Enterprises Ltd, and Prof. D N Reddy, Principal, College of Engineering, Osmania University, are the distinguished speakers.
