From high-end paper presentations to a technical crossword, a technical GD and even a technical JAM, the OU campus is rocking with EE events for 2 days. The smart ones will realize that the more uncommon an event is, the simpler it is to win it - all it takes the guts to participate. For lots of easy prizes in EE, you gotta be here these 2 days.
The Department of Electrical Engineering, University College of Engineering in the Osmania University campus, is organising Techsonance 2007, a national-level technical symposium, on 17th and 18th February. Techsonance 2007 is a congregation of bright minds, sharing and learning technological advancements. It is an attempt to unearth the latent skills of budding engineers and to bridge the gap between the industry and students.
This 2-day national symposium will witness many engineering colleges of the city and the country showcasing their knowledge skills. Techsonance 2006 saw a plethora of papers recived from all over the country, signifying the popularity of this event and the magnitude of its success, which has grown with every passing year. This year's symposium has the following events and competitions lined up:
A paper presentation on the topics of Power Electronic Devices And Circuits, DSP/Vector-Controlled Electric Drives, Micro-Processors/Micro-Controllers/Embedded Systems, Artificial Intelligence/Fuzzy Logic & Neural Networks, FACTS, HVDC Transmission, Power Distribution Systems And Power Quality, Non-Conventional Energy Sources/Fuel Cells, VLSI, IC Design, MEMS and BIOMEMS, Digital Relays, Automation/Continuous And Discrete Control Systems - Industrial Applications, Applications Of PLCs, Energy-Efficient Electrical Machines and Illumination
An enthusiast's paradise where one can learn about a plethora of phenomena used in today's world. This is a presentation of posters by the participants in different areas of science and technology.
Scientists of the past have made great efforts to make use of the things around them in the best way possible. Minuventure is an event which encourages students to emulate this.
A group discussion on a general or technical topic that would test your awareness and exposure to the updates in technical field.
An event designed to test the scientific acumen of the participants, where distorted visuals will be given to the participants to identify. The participants will be aided with the necessary clues or information required to unravel the element in the visual.
Pick 'n' Flick
This is no ordinary crossword puzzle. It tests you on how good an engineer you are. It is a teaser and can keep your mind's wheels churning for hours together.
One of the most enjoyed, fun-filled events of Techsonance, wherein the students are given a topic (technical) and have to talk about it for a minute. The more light one throws on the topic given, the more closer he is to winning it.
This is one of the crowd-pulling events at Techsonance. It involves a good knowledge of circuits and their behavior when connected differently, for winning. A faulty circuit will be given and the participants are supposed to find out the faulty conditions and then rectify the circuit to get the expected output.
In addition to all the above, cultural programs like singing, solo and group dances, mimicry and mime will be there in between. The event is open to all the departmental faculty and students, and also to other colleges' students.
