Enjoy some Carnatic classical music at the violin recital Swara Raaga Maalika, organised by Aarabhi Centre For Performing Arts on 7th September, at Thyagaraja Gana Sabha. The program will begin at 6pm.
Swara Raaga Maalika is the curtain raiser for two students of the Aarabhi Violin School, R Chandramouli and P R Datta Sai. They will be performing a Carnatic Jugalbandi on the violin. The chief guest for the evening is Dr. Nukala Chinna Satyanarayana (Carnatic musician) accompanied by the guest of honor, Anuradha Prasad (founder of Saptaparini).
The two performers are senior-most students of Ashok Gurjale, the founder of Aarabhi Violin School. Chandramouli has recently finished his engineering, and joined Aarabhi in 1999. Sai, considered the first student of the school, joined in 1998. Both artistes have performed in over 200 group concerts till now.
Aarabhi is an exclusive violin School, the only one of its kind in India. From a modest beginning, it now has over a 100 students, of ages varying from 6 to 60. Aarabhi is a registered educational and charitable trust, and is being funded by music lovers and other individuals. It initally provides its own instruments to its students.
Students of Aarabhi have performed more than 200 live concerts on various platforms in India. Every month Aarabhi organises stage recitals to promote its young talent.
