Seagram's Imperial Blue is presenting a live pop rock concert by the Pakistani band Strings, on 30th April, at the Nizam College grounds. This popular band is releasing its new album Koi Aane Wala Hai on 15th May, and to promote it, is undertaking a 5-city tour in Lucknow, Agra, Hyderabad, Pune and Kolhapur before the release.
Strings is a Pakistani pop band comprising two members, Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia. The band started with four college students (Bilal, Faisal, Rafiq, Kareem) in 1990, when they came out with a self-titled album. After their second album, Strings 2 in 1992, the band dismembered. 8 years later, Bilal and Faisal reformed the group, coming out with their album Duur and then Dhaani, both proving national and international hits.
The song Naa Jane Kyun from their album Dhaani was also included in the soundtrack for the Hindi version of Spiderman 2. In 2005, Strings won the Best Artist award at the MTV Asia Awards. Ironically, they were nominated as an Indian band as they sang the title song Zinda Hoon for the Hindi movie Zinda.
The entry appears limited to special guests - reads the P3Ps of town - but some invites are also available for outsiders, with Seagram's dealers. Please contact Ameesha at 098997-00171 for further details.
