Sledge, Rudra and Death Incarnate on stage, with a few zillion watts prodding them on. If you've always wanted to die listening to heavy metal, here's a great shot!
Full-Volume Event Management is organising Yamaha Roxx, the Stop AIDS Rock Concert, at Durgam Cheruvu this Saturday. The concert is being organised in a effort to highlight the causes of AIDS and ways to control/minimise it. It features three rock bands: Rudra, Sledge and Death Incarnate.
Rudra is a Singaporean death metal band formed in 1992 which pioneered the Vedic metal form of heavy metal music. In a short span, this music got popularized in South Asia, South-East Asia and other parts of the Asian continent.
The lyrics rely heavily on Hindu Vedic literature and philosophy, and instrumentation may include Indian classical instruments accordingly. The troupe consists of Kathi with the lead vocals, Shiva on the percussions, and Selvam and Devan on the guitars. The band has The Past, Rudra, The Aryan Crusade, Kurukshetra and Brahmavidya albums to its credit.
The winner of Castrol Garage Rock '03 and runner-up at NSIT & IIT Delhi, Sledge was formed in 1998 when a group of students decided to get together to bring death and heavy metal back into prominence. They have been consistently winning competitions all around the country, and in 2003 they peaked, winning the Castrol Garage Rock contest, bagging all the prizes up for grabs - Best Vocals, Best Lead Guitarist, Best Bassist and Best Drummer. The members of the band consist of Subash on lead guitar, Avinash for the vocals, Suman on the drums, Karna on rhythm guitar and Anjani on the bass.
The entry to the concert is free, by invitations. Please contact 99634-25798/98855-22485 for invitations and further details.
