The Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis Association is organizing a ranking tournament from 18th June to 21st June, at YMCA, Narayanaguda. The matches will be held from 8am to 10pm.
The association is expecting over 500 teams to participate from all over the state. The tournament has a total prize money of Rs. 40,000, and is the 70th annual tournament. It is dedicated to Niranjan Shah who was the secretary of YMCA in the late 1930s, and the trophy was donated by Late V K Dhage. The various sub-categories include men, women, junior boys & girls, sub-junior boys & girls, cadet boys & girls, and mini cadet boys & girls.
The Andhra Pradesh Table Tennis Association was registered and established in 1964. It has produced national and international players like Mir Kasim Ali, Shubham Sharma, Jitender, Nikhat Banu and CHSSV Ramana. The Association has organized many national and international events in Andhra Pradesh including the Pent-Angular championship, the Golden Jubilee Senior Nationals and Junior Nationals, the Commonwealth TT championship, the IX Asian Junior Table Tennis Championship, and 4 national ranking table tennis championships.
