It's that time of the year when award ceremonies in the film fraternity line up. The frenzy begins with the South Scope Style Awards at the HICC, on 25th November. The award ceremony will begin at 7pm.
The Southscope Style awards are being introduced in order to celebrate the sartorial splendour of South India cinema. Style in cinema has is an unacknowledged concept. Southscope has taken on the daunting task of shortlisting films from all south-Indian languages - Telugu, Tamil, Kannada& Malayalam - that have stood apart from the rest with their signature style, during the year 2007-2008. Winners will be chosen by an audience poll and the jury's votes.

Stylish Film - 4 languages
Stylish Actor - Male - 4 languages
Stylish Actor- Female - 4 languages
Stylish Album - 4 languages
Stylish Fight Choreography - 4 languages
Stylish Song Choreography - 4 languages
Southscope Style Icon - 1
Southscope Youth Style Icon - Male
Southscope Youth Style Icon - Female
The icing on the cake will be a single South Scope Style Icon, as well as the 2 categories of South Scope Youth Style Icon (male and female).
In addition to conducting the audience's poll, there will be a jury comprising of renowned fashion designers - Asmita Marwa, Wendell Rodricks and Prasad Bidapa - who will judge the nominees according to some preset parameters. The evening will be a star-studded event, with the who's who of cinema, consisting of luminaries from all the 4 south-Indian film industries. Besides the awards ceremony, the event will have performances, entertainment and a fashion show by stars in true blue south film style.
