The Taj Deccan is presenting a Soups & Steaks Festival, from 28th January to 6th February, at Arena, the 24-hour coffee shop. The festival will offer soups, meats, seafood and vegetarian options from across the globe.
Guests can dine on steaming soups and sumptuous steaks presented on a flambé trolley, and executive chef Rajeev Janveja will interact with the guests, explaining the preparation of each dish. The menu offers eight varieties of soup and ten varieties of steak to satiate both veggie lovers and non-vegetarians. The chef has given a twist to some of the traditional soups of the world like:
Minestrone - a popular traditional Italian soup served with Parmesan melba toast
Sop Udang - A Malaysian speciality of shrimps extracts, flavoured with lemon grass and thickened with fresh coconut milk
Tomato Stilton - Classical English soup made of plum tomatoes and stilton blue cheese, served with stilton croutons
The lemon grass bread served with the soup is a new creation from Chef Janveja.
The festival also presents some popular steaks like the T-bone Steak, Porter House and Fillet Mignon. Other rare steaks available on the menu are the Salmon and the Silver Pomfret steaks. To add to the experience, each dish is paired with a complimentary wine recommended by the hotel's master sommelier. Apart from the uniqueness of the food and the wines, the entertainment provided by a live flautist makes it a great experience.
The a la carte menu for the festival includes dishes like Chicken Steak, Salmon Steak, Darne Of Silver Pomfret, Corn Fed Chicken Steaks, Lamb Steak, Chateaubriand Steak and T-bone Steak, and for vegetarians, Pan-Fried Zucchini Roesti With Swiss Cheese Melt, Jacket Baked Oven Roasted Potato, Curried Butternut Pumpkin, Tomato Stilton Soup, Potage St. Germain and Fillet Mignon.
