From JAMming to Sonu Nigam, it's 3 days of, well, scintillations at VNR, as the plethora of college fests in town reach their climax.
V N R Vignana Jyothi Institute of Engineering & Technology (VJIET), located at Bachpally village, is organising its annual college fest, the Sintillashunz, from 17th to 19th March. The following is the list of events to be conducted during the 3-day fest:
Speaking a sentence of impeccable English adhering to a few rules might demand no concentration at all. But then it turns out to be a challenging task when people are ready to pounce and pull you up for the least of the mistakes you make. The object of this game is to speak for just a minute without repetition, hesitation or deviation.
War Of The Words
The competition of words is all set to lend you great moments, good fun and lots to learn. The preliminary round will bow before the efforts of participants in a written round. The chosen knights will come back armed with etymology, phonetics and all that is required to fight the war of the words. This final round will get you to exercise your verbal power. Synonyms, antonyms and homonyms will wage war, and there will be one undisputed champion who will walk away with the prize.
Cat On The Wall
Call it a turncoat debate, floor-crossing or simply cat-on-the-wall - here's your chance to prove how convincing you can be and how passionate you are about every dimension of your thought. Jack the audience out with your glibness. Explore the lawyer traits in you. Do not hesitate to deviate from your current point of view even if it means you would have to return to it later.

Puzzle championship is one sure way to unwind yourself at the end of a tedious day lined up with technical events. This event is a great way to spend your free moments, engrossed in analytical puzzles that are sure to entertain. There are attractive prizes for the team which solves the most problems in the least time.
Competitions will be held in Instrumental Solo, Classical Solo, Western Music Solo, Light Music Group, Hindi Antakshari, Telugu Antakshari, Light Music Solo and Western Music Group.
The most sought-after events at fests, they will be a refresher after a day full of boxing and pulling. Three evenings of rocking music, masti and hip shaking, as follows:
17th March - Choreo Nite
A grand evening in VNR VJIET showcases the most talented college troupes in the region, mesmerizing a jam-packed audience rising to their feet at the sound of each beat. The electric atmosphere, robust competition and stunning vista leave the senses in awe.
18th March - Naresh Iyer Nite
This 25-year-old lad impressed A R Rahman during Channel V’s Super Singer contest, where he made it to the final 25 contestants out of 25,000 competitors. A R Rahman gave him the big break for three numbers - Roobaroo, Tu Bin Bataye and Paathshala from Rang De Basanti, which gave him a new introduction and identity in the music world.
19th March - Sonu Nigam Nite
Since stepping into limelight with the hit number Accha Sila Diya Tune Mere Pyar Ka for the film Bewafa Sanam, courtesy Gulshan Kumar, Sonu Nigam became a singing sensation in the world of pop music and Bollywood. He has rendered some of the hit numbers of this decade, like Mera Rangde Basanti from The Legend of Bhagat Singh, Sandese Aate Hai from Border, Panchi Nadiyaan from Refugee, Satrangi Re from Dil Se, Yeh Dil Deewana from Pardes and Tanhayee from Dil Chahta Hai. He has won the Zee Cine Awards in 1997 & 2001, and the Filmfare Award in 2002. His pop album Deewana was a massive hit.
The cultural evenings for the 17th and 18th March are free-of-cost, but for 19th March there are entry tickets of Rs. 150, Rs. 300 and Rs. 500 for a single, and Rs. 700 for a couple, available at Café Coffee Day outlets, Prasads and the college campus.
Entertaining activities such as music show, fashion show, rock show and jukebox are held every day.
