After the stupendous success of their concert here for the New Year, Silk Route, one of India's most successful bands, is coming to town to perform at Durgam Cheruvu. This event is being sponsored by One Alliance, comprising of Ten Downing Street, Bottles & Chimney, Liquids and Touch, and is being organised by APTDC.
Silk Route, which was formed by the association of Mohit Chauhan (vocals) and Kem Trivedi (Guitar), first made their mark in the Indian music scene with their super-hit song Dooba Dooba. The song remained on the number one slot for more than 12-weeks and also had the distinction of being the costliest song ever shot during its time. Even though they have not come out with any other album since 1998, they still remain one of the most busy, and admired bands in the country.
The aim of this event is to promote awareness about drug abuse and its ill-effects. The proceeds of the concert will go to ASRAM, a professional organisation connected to the Asha Hospital that counsels drug abusers and provides full rehabilitation to the addicts.
