Presented by the Navoi Bolshoi Ballet from Tashkent, this grand and opulently mounted production will consist of about 110 artists, including ballerinas and live musicians. The characters of Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote are being brought to Hyderabad after having taken Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai by storm. The troupe of 110 will consist of about 50-ballet dancers and a 50-member philharmonic orchestra, along with support staff.
The excitement, colour and wit of Cervantes' masterpiece are conveyed in this sparkling production of Don Quixote, set to the vibrant musical score of Ludwig Minkus. In astounding displays of virtuoso dancing, the plot unfolds merrily, as the love between Kitri and Basil is challenged by the fruitless attempts of Kitri's father to engineer his unwilling daughter into a more lucrative match. Drama, comedy, love and dazzling choreography combine in this enchanting classic.
