REVIEW FOR RUDRAKSHA MAHIMA - HARIKATHA BY S BHARATHI
The Sita Rama Naama Sankeertana Sangam is organising a Harikatha recital by S Bharathi on 9th April at the Lord Balaji Temple at Alwal. The Harikatha will be accompanied by Seelam Koteshwar Rao on the violin and Yandamuri Subbarao on the mridangam.
The Harikatha will begin with Ganesh Stuti, and will be followed by a story titled Rudraksha Mahima. It is based on the love story of Lord Subrahmanya, son of Lord Shiva, and Amrutha Valli, the daughter of Lord Vishnu.
S Bharathi is a renowed Harikatha artist who has born and bought up in East Godavari district, at Kapileshwara Puram. She hails from a traditional Harikatha family, and is a disciple of A Srirama Sharma. She is a diploma holder in Harikatha, and also a B-High grade artist in All-India Radio and Doordarshan.
Bharathi has performed all over India, and was awarded the Gaana Kokila title in the year 2000. She has performed in prestigious sabhas like Ravindra Bharathi, Sri Thyagaraya Gana Sabha, Madras Music Academy, Kalidas Samaroh, AP Bhavan and Shilparamam. She also learnt Andhra Natyam from Kala Krishna.
