The Society To Save The Rocks Foundation is organizing its monthly event, Rockwalks, on 18th May this month, at Fakhruddingutta, near Gachibowli road, with a hike around the historic rocks there, some of the most magnificent natural rock formations in the whole country. This walk will start at NMDC, Masab Tank, at 7am.
The basic ideology of the Foundation is to discover and preserve rocks which are being felled to meet the constructional needs of the urban populations. The club welcomes everybody to join it on these monthly activities, but requests them to come wearing some sensible shoes, a cap and long pants, and to carry a water bottle. The timings of the activity are 7am to 11am.
The membership fees vary from Rs. 100 for students to Rs. 1,000 for corporates, and the proceeds of such walks are being utilized to fund projects which will help save nature's architectural wonders and also to organize concerts to spread awareness of the importance of saving rocks.
