The Great Hyderabad Adventure Club is organising a morning of rapelling and bouldering at the Moulali Hills, on 10th September, from 5:30am to 8:00am. You can now experience it all by rappelling 160 feet down, on an 80-degree vertical angle. Participants will assemble at the foot of the Moulali Dargah.
The session will begin with an introduction of the activity, with information about climbing and rappelling equipment like carabiners, descenders, harnesses and rappelling ropes. There will be a demonstration of rappelling techniques and the anchoring and safety system, followed by guided attempts by participants.
Rappelling, abseiling or canyoning is a technique of descent from vertical faces with the help of ropes and specialized rappelling equipment. It is considered the quickest and easiest way to get a taste of mountaineering.
If you're up for participation, you must wear full track pants and T-shirts, sport or trekking shoes (preferably with knee support) and a sun cap, and carry a water bottle. You may get along some fruits, juices, energy bars or something to munch on after and during the trek. And those who're avid photographers can also carry a camera to take a few snaps.
