Rang De Dialogue is a Dialogue In The Dark exhibition offering Hyderabadis the opportunity to better understand the life of the visually challenged. Participants of Rang De Dialogue will perform everyday activities like crossing a road or shopping for groceries, in complete darkness. They will learn to rely on their senses to navigate the various activities, while a blind leader guides them through the event.
Students from 6th to 12th standards are permitted to take part in the event. The participants will be required to express their experience via a painting, and the top 25 will be auctioned at the end of the exhibition, and the money thus collected will be used to for the welfare of the visually impaired.
Dialogue In The Dark (DiD) is the brainchild of a German social entreprenuer named Dr. Andreas Heinecke, whose interest in the world of the visually-challenged sprung his empathy for his colleague who lost his vision to a car accident. Cr. Hienecke had tried to formulate a rehabilitation program for his friend, and was shocked to find that little information was available on the subject.
Upon discerning that the general public was ignorant about and prejudiced against the visually-challenged, he designed the first Dialogue in the Dark exhibition so that visitors understand the life of the blind. The exhibitions gained popularity, and in the nineties, traveled out of Europe. Permanent exhibitions have been set up in Frankfurt, Munich, Milan, Atlanta, Guadalajara, Holon and other cities all over the world.
The final day for registration is 15th April. The tickets are priced at Rs. 300 for adults, and at Rs. 250 for children. Groups comprising 8 or more members will be charged Rs. 200 per head.
