REVIEW FOR PRESENTATION ON FIELD IDENTIFICATION OF RAPTORS BY RAJEEV MATHEW
Goethe-Zentrum is holding an expert talk, "Field Identification Of Raptors", with Rajeev Mathew on 9th December, at 6 pm.
Rajeev Mathew of the Birdwatcher's Society Of Andhra Pradesh (BWSAP) will share snippets of information about raptors, and the ways in which they can be distinguished from each other.
Raptors are birds of prey which feed on other animals, primarily vertebrates. Due to their predatory and scavenging nature, raptors occupy a key place on the food chain, triggering numerous conservation drives all over the world for their protection.
The speaker will throw light on eagles found in peninsular India, and reveal how to tell apart different genera which might look identical to the untrained eye.
Rajeev Mathew is President of the BioWILD Foundation, Hyderabad, and an active member of BWSAP. He has studied raptor behaviour and their feeding patterns with Bombay Natural History Society in Bharatpur.
Participation is free. Please contact 6552-6443 for further details.
